Taj General Manager’s wife, 2 sons die
The wife and the two sons of Taj Mahal Hotel’s general manager Karambir Kang were killed in the terrorist attack on the hotel. A relative of the Kangs family, which is from Mohali near Chandigarh, said while Karambir Kang was not in the hotel on Wednesday night, his wife Neeti and sons Uday (14) and Samar (5) were killed in the terrorist strike.
The three deceased were residing in the accommodation provided to them at the hotel and became targets of the terrorist bullets, a relative of the Kangs family told reporters in Mohali.
Two MPs — Lal Mani Prasad and Jaisingrao Gaikwad Patil — who were at the Taj hotel are safe in their rooms, said Parliament member N.N. Krishnadas who was himself rescued from there by commandos on Thursday.
“They are safe at their hotel rooms,” Mr Krishnadas, an MP of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) from Kerala, said. “They are expected to join us after the entire operation is over,” he added.

It is clear that this is a make or break time for India. We have been hit but I think it has also done one more thing, that is, to give us a reason to unite and take a step forward. I wish all these people who feel affected make a simple resolution, I will pay my tax whether my neighbor pays taxes or not - no more supporting corruption, no more bribes to get your work done. Do the public have the inner conviction to say this - can every Bombay municipal officials decide and resolve no taking bribes, I will come on time, I will do my duty. Can every individual in the police department say we will not take bribes? Can every official in the government pledge I will do my duty - my country comes first and I as an individual come later. Can all the politicians pledge - I will not look at only my people but India as my nation my country not only my caste, my religion, my friends and interest group. That I will work for my constituency as a whole. Can I ask all BMC officials to first resolve to remove pavement encroachers and allow people to walk on it - has this incident hurt them enough to take this resolve?? I ask. Can the nation decide collectively that they will follow the rules of the country to not corrupt and tempt government officials with bribes, has it hurt them enough? Can the nation take a resolve that his fellow human being has an equal right to be on the road and use it just as the other person. To drive with care on the roads and give regard for his fellow driver. Then I think we have gained from this tragic incident then I think we really care for our nation then I think we really want to contribute then I think we have the truth in us and not a lip service to satisfy our own self-interest and feelings of disgust. I ask this of everyone, the common man, the government official, the people on duty at the octori naka, the person at the docks, the person at the airport, the policemen, the tax collector and income tax officer, the sales tax officer, the customs officer, the person in MUTP, MAHDA, the petrol pump owners who adulterates the petrol, the shop-keeper who sells without bills, the ration shop owner who siphon's off the rations due to people to sell in open market, I ask with sadness, do you have the resolve, are you really hurt enough, do you really love your country, I ask, can you take one decision to really follow the rules that the government has set for us, then the terrorist can be stopped. I challenge everyone in this nation, everyone who says he or she is hurt. this is a time for inner strength to be shown and your ability to be above all other petty things can be shown, I ask, my heart bleeds for this nation, my heart cries out that people talk and talk and talk and speak and speak, but can they take a decision within themselves first of this simple decision that they 'WILL NOT PAY BRIBES’ this is within their own hands and a politician is not involved in this decision. Can an individual shopkeeper resolve, I will remove all things that I keep in front of the shop and block the pathway of a pedestrian, I ask, or it is still an incident which is not your responsibility. I see all TV channels showing complaints from public directed at the politicians and officials but that is for their TRP's and not a positive action. I ask Mr. Producer do you have the resolve in you show the public the voice of sanity where action of an individual is shown the right way. People on the street are asking, what I should do, to solve this. Can you show this note to the people of Mumbai and this nation? I ask this of everyone who reads this, and I know this will solve a lot of our problems, the terrorist can be stopped, the terrorist will not find it easy to walk into the Hotel Taj and shoot at random because the 'Kuber' would have been detected somehow, the taxi transporting would have maybe become brave and alert and maybe the intelligence officials would have shared and discussed it more in detail the warnings from the IB. maybe the co-operation within our government depts. and security agencies would have been good and no fear of one-upmanship would be there, maybe the confidence and pride of duty would be so much that he would not worry about who gets the credit, maybe this accusations by the BJP and other political parties against our brave Karkare saheb would have made him not so disgusted and down and pressurized to prove himself and taken care of himself as he went after the terrorist that fatal night, maybe, maybe, maybe this is a better thought and I feel we have a reason to be proud that we have done our job well. I am confident I will and have the peace of mind that I lack now and I am sure all of us lack now.
