India wakes up to longest solar eclipse
Scientific temper and faith were in almost equal display across the country as citizens woke up on Wednesday morning to the longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century.
Apart from Varanasi, the eclipse was completely visible at Dibrugarh in Assam between 6.31 am and 6.34 am. Other Northeastern states like Manipur, Sikkim and Nagaland were disappointed as overcast conditions prevented people from watching the eclipse.
In the western states, many people in Rajasthan and also in Gujarat were disappointed as clouds prevented them from witnessing the celestial spectacle. However, Bikaner, Kota, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Ganganagar and Hanumangarh got a good glimpse of the eclipse. In Jaipur, it was visible for a minute.
